Irrigation Tankers

The tanker system is a time saving product used by landscaping professionals in both interior and exterior plantings. Watering with a can or hose means that water flows down through the soil moistening the roots for a short period of time. Often too much or too little water is added and this repeated process washes out nutrients, washes in salts from the surface and causes gradual root damage.

The tanker system overcomes these problems. The tanker is positioned in the planter under the plant roots. Soil then draws water and oxygen from the tanker via capillary action, which is filled by the air/filler pipe that runs up to the surface. The pipe also contains a small float to indicate the water level in the reservoir.

It really is a time saving system as you need only fill once every one or two weeks depending upon size of tanker used. As a rule you should use the largest tanker that can fit into your planter. [In tall planters the tanker should be no more than 15cm away from the roots.] It is easy to install as it doesn’t require any electricity or main water supply and there is no wastage or run off as all the water reaches the roots of the plants directly. Liquid feed can be added to the water to promote even more healthy growth.

Tankers really are the easy way to professional results
